Mission of the ATM R&D

1.To conduct research, development and evaluation activities for air navigation services,

2. To carry out innovative projects to increase the capacity and efficiency of existing ATM services, to participate in projects to be set up by the European Union and EUROCONTROL, to carry out research and studies to resolve difficulties that may arise in the implementation and adaptation of the country's airspace, to prepare software for the development of systems or to make proposals for the purchase of software when necessary,

3. To carry out national and international research and development in the field of aeronautics, in accordance with the content of the ICAO, in line with the strategy defined by EUROCONTROL,

4. To endeavour to improve the quality of systems in all units of the Air Navigation Services Department, to develop cooperation with national and international parties in this context, to prepare or recommend projects based on ATM systems that will mobilise public-university-industry cooperation in our country.

5. To carry out, within the framework of existing legislation, the gradual replacement and maintenance of the air navigation infrastructure, in collaboration with our national research institutes and, where appropriate, university and industry representatives,

6. To carry out the necessary coordination, research, development and evaluation and to provide solutions to any problems or disturbances that may arise from the inadequacy of the system or equipment available or that may occur in the operational areas,

7. Carry out the necessary research, development and evaluation to increase airspace capacity and ATM service quality, thus increasing the number of airspace users, and establish a common working environment by liaising with similar organisations within and outside the country.

8. To procure and monitor funds and to transmit them to the Department responsible for the accounts in order to carry out accruals/deferrals and payments,

9. To perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Department.
